Frequently Asked Questions

Email Jessy at tugofwarllc@gmail.com if you can't find an answer to your question.

We will discuss and coordinate a date and time to meet. I typically meet my clients at a parking lot closest to the fishing destination.

Unless you’d prefer I fish with you or demonstrate certain techniques, I'll be focusing on teaching, setting up your rod and reel, and netting your fish. This is your trip and your adventure, so you'll be doing the catching!

I will provide the following supplies for your outdoor adventure:

  • Waders
  • Wading boots
  • High-quality fishing rod and reel (fly fishing and/or ultralight spinning)
  • Terminal tackle
  • Strike indicators and flies
  • Snacks and cold drinks

You will need to bring the following supplies for your outdoor adventure:

  • Sunscreen
  • Polarized sunglasses
  • Cap or wide-brimmed hat
  • Current Utah state fishing license
  • Pair of long socks for provided wading boots

Check the local weather report the night before and day of your trip. I usually recommend dressing in layers.

During the colder months of the year I recommend fleece and all-weather gear because synthetics insulate better than cotton fabrics. If your trip is during the colder months I suggest having a pair of wool or fleece gloves to keep your hands protected from the elements. Beanies or warm hats are also a good idea for early spring and late fall.

During the summer months be sure to have some quick dry pants that you won’t mind getting a little wet. (If wearing waders, this will not be an issue.) Remember that we’ll be on the water for several hours, so a long-sleeved fishing shirt with UPF protection can help protect you from the sun.

Beer is acceptable in moderation. Please pack up any trash and take it with you.

Higher elevations make for harder trekking. Those who aren't as active may struggle. If you have any concerns, let's discuss before booking your trip. You can email me your questions.

Yes! You can purchase a fishing license from the Utah Hunting and Fishing App or website.

Tug of War Outfitters practices catch and release. Let 'em go, let 'em grow!

I'll do my best to ensure opportunities to catch a fish. Trust me, I know the feeling of "skunking" on a fishing trip! Unfortunately, this is just the nature of fishing. You know the saying... That's why they call it "fishing", not "catching".
